Help available in starting child care business
Quality child care is vital to an employee’s success on the job. It also contributes to the economic success of a community. Greene County has many new and expanding businesses. Because of this growth, parents may soon have trouble finding child care. Now might be a good time to start a child care business.
The need for child care is constant. Cherie Cerveny, director of the Greene County Early Learning Center, said, “Each family’s child care needs vary, therefore having choices available in our community is vital. Greene County Early Learning Center works in partnership with family child care businesses. All children deserve quality care regardless of the setting.”
Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) offers assistance in starting a child care business and provides support along the way. It offers free services for child care businesses in homes, centers, preschools and schools. Consultants provide resources such as training, business practices and on-site assistance. These resources encourage child care businesses to provide a quality program.
Persons who want to start a child care business or need free referrals to child care, please contact CCR&R. It is a program of West Central Community Action. Funding is provided by the Iowa Department of Human Services through the Child Care Development Fund. CCR&R welcomes questions from parents, providers, or community members about quality child care.
